Use of cars for Formals or Weddings
Unfortunately, we are unable to recommend the use of our members’ cars for use as Formal or Wedding cars.
In Queensland, hiring out cars requires a Limousine Hire Licence, which involves a mandatory Licence Fee and Public Liability Insurance cover which imposes additional conditions such as six monthly mechanical inspections etc.
Additionally, many of our members have concessional registration for their vehicles, which does not allow the vehicle to be used for Formals or Weddings, even for no fee. The only exception in this instance is for the owners immediate family.
Members whose vehicles are on full Queensland registration (not concessional) can use their cars for Formals or Weddings, but are not allowed to charge a fee or receive a reward.
